For a long time, I’ve wanted a place to document life in a slower, more meaningful way. Especially in this season of building our first home.

Not just the finished photos or the quick updates, but the process behind things—the decisions, the mistakes, the things we learn along the way, and the small moments that usually disappear before we have a chance to remember them.

Right now, this journal will mostly be a record of building our little cabin in the woods. I’ll be sharing the behind-the-scenes of creating a home by hand: what we’re building, what we’re learning, what we get wrong, the materials we choose, the problems we run into, and the lessons that come from figuring things out as we go.

Over time, I imagine this journal will grow with us. The cabin is where this story begins, but someday it may include herbalism, creative work, raising children untraditionally, farm to table meals, and all the other things that make up a life built with intention.

I also want to be transparent about why this is a subscription journal.

While we are spending this season building our home and working toward a slower way of living, we are also navigating what it looks like to make an income while putting so much time into this project. Creating this journal is one small way I can continue the process while also allowing the people who truly want to follow along to support what we’re building.
