Corbin + Halle // Lake Erie Building Wedding in Cleveland, Ohio

Halie Johnson

Driving 22 hours round trip to a wedding is exhausting, but so special (we did it twice in one month). First off, I'm still in shock that someone would want us to travel that far to document their wedding day. There are SO many amazing photographers in every single state, so I get real giddy every time I get an inquiry for an out of state wedding. I probably always will. I also get to be stuck in the car for hours and hours with my favorite person. It's a good mix of challenging and fun - but mostly fun.

Corbin + Halle really focused on fun for their wedding weekend. Everyone was so laid back and in the moment, never stressing about what needed to be done next. We drove in a day early to photograph their rehearsal dinner. It was on the beach at Lake Erie. The location was too perfect not to steal them away from their friends and family for some portraits. The next day, I met the girls at Halle's mom's home (where her sister made us the best grilled cheese sandwiches). Alec met the guys at Halle's brother's home (where they drank some beer and listened to Van Halen on the record player). We finally all met up at Screw Factory Lofts / Lake Erie Building for the wedding. Their ceremony was intimate and their reception was KILLER. Pretty much the second we were done with their portraits, everyone hit the dance floor and kept moving until curfew. Guests were surprised with late night pizza after working up an appetite from dancing to the two live bands (that danced and sang ON the dance floor with us). Corbin + Halle (and your family + friends), thank you for making us laugh all day and showing us some of the best of Cleveland.
